You may find yourself in a mood such as depression or anxiety, but do not allow the mood to take you over. You can watch your thoughts and choose to make changes. It is not always an easy process, but you will be doing better and functioning better if you learn some techniques to shake off the negative stuff. Also, you may need to just cope with the negative stuff and go with the flow until you begin to feel better. You have to strive to be the best you that you can be. Don't dwell in the darkness, it will only pull you down deeper. Do at least one thing productive during the day. Commit to getting some exercise, and go to the mirror and smile at yourself, really, you will feel a difference right away. Honor yourself for being a part of life on this planet. Help at least two other people today. Show some kindness to yourself and at least two others, people or animals. Be proud to be your best, and forget the rest.
Add anything else that you have found is helpful for you. Mostly, watch the self-talk, get out of the doldrums so they don't pull you down. If you find you are unable to pull up then take the stuff with you, but do at least ONE productive thing during the day.
What helps me is my routines. Keeping busy.........having and planning an activity. During the week is easy because I work and that takes my mind out of myself. Weekends usually are busy with a planned activity, even if it's having the car serviced, or shopping for ingredients for a new recipe to try. It's all about the little stuff. Enjoy the little things, because the little day to day activities are what make up your life.
I also tell myself not to think too much. I've adopted the song from Frozen "Let It Go" as my "go to" phrase when I start worrying about something. Put it in a pretty box and tie it with a bow and put it in the closet on the top shelf. It will be there when you are ready to face it.
I am allowed to feel happy.........I am allowed to feel joy.........the mistakes of my past don't define me..............I am worthwhile.......
