This section will take you through the book: Mind Over Mood by Dennis Greenberger and Christine A. Padesky.

The first exercise asks you to list the problems you are having in your environment, physical body, moods, behaviors, and thoughts. The examples provided are exaggerated to help you understand the concept:
Environmental: Change in relationship, job, or place you live.
Example: My house is always a mess and I hate cleaning it. It is a constant stress, consequently my mate is always upset as well.
Physical: Change in energy, appetite, sleep, hormonal issues, pain, nausea.
Example: I have gained weight and it has caused my feet to swell, consequently I can't sleep.

Example: Sad, sucky, icky, yuky, hateful, angry, blue, and stuck.
Behaviors: A and B (A)What are you doing? (B) What would you like to be doing?
Example: A)Eating, sleeping, yelling, and slothing. B) Moving, productive, happy, functioning, creating.
Thoughts: What thoughts do you have about yourself, others, situations, your future, memories, images, what thoughts interfere with what you would like to be doing?
Example: I hate me and my life. It should have been different and people should treat me different. I should be appreciated. I feel helpless, hopeless and angry. I want someone to care and someone to help me change.
